(IMO) Your Boyfriend's Closet

It is an undeniably stand out trend this season - outfits that are pulled together with, what looks like, pieces from your boyfriend's closet: a vest, rolled up baggy denim, oversized cardigan sweaters, a tweed blazer, and of course the necessary accessories: suspenders or a great fedora. To feminize the look ladies are pairing with the latest five inch heel and heaping on the pearls. It ends up look effortless and uncharacteristically comfortable for the fashion industry.

The trend spawned from the images of Katie Holmes stepping out in what were speculated to be Tom Cruise's jeans. The baggy, saggy, picked off the bed room floor style proliferated, and we now see it as a staple in every denim collection worth its salt.

The oversized cardigan is not really anything new, but its more structured counterpart - the tweed blazer - is a more recent appearance. And what appropriate timing! After all, 2009 marks the centennial anniversary of Chanel - the designer who first marketed the concept of 'borrowing from the boys' with her tweed blazers in the 1920s.

So go raid your boyfriend's closet. Steal his jeans, throw on his blazers - you can deny it all to him later! Below are some of my favorite looks from the trend:
